Girls on the Run

This is another non-profit that I photographed for the Good Giving Guide.  I’d never heard of Girls on the Run and it is was awesome to see what it is and how it works. GOTR reminded me of girl scouts, but if you take out scouting aspects (in my experience, sewing sit upons and earning badges) and replace it with running.  It had the same topical discussions (on the day I was there it was about peer pressure) but then they run.  Their mission is to inspire girls to become healthy, confident, and joyful while creatively incorporating running into all of that.  It was interesting to hang out with ten year olds – they were so funny and had such great stories.

I remember when I turned ten thinking, “Now I’m a decade old.”  Ha.
