The Carnegie Center for Literacy and Learning

The Carnegie Center is housed in the first library in Lexington, sitting at the foot of historic Gratz Park downtown.  I’ve always wanted to go in ever since I moved here – it’s in my neighborhood and I walk by it all the time.  It was so pretty and light.  Even though it’s not a traditional library anymore, it is still filled with books and cozy places to read – a bibliophile’s dream.  The goal of the Carnegie Center is to create and support programs that foster literacy and learning as a lifelong process for all citizens.  Pretty great.

It was so quiet and peaceful in there, just like a library.  My camera seemed so loud I kept wanting to shush myself.

This is another non-profit that will be in the Good Giving Guide this holiday season!
