Laney & Wes… engaged!

Another sunrise session! Though this one was a little more difficult. We rescheduled this engagement session several times starting in April (!) and always got rained out. This morning didn’t seem to be different but we decided to forge ahead and do it no matter what. Laney and Wes’ wedding is coming up in October and we were running out of time. Sometimes my favorite photos come out of less than ideal situations and this was definitely one of those times! It was still pretty dark when we started and the humidity was intense. But I love how the photos turned out – Laney and Wes are so fun and I would love it if all my future brides and grooms were covered in tattoos! I can’t wait for their fall wedding – I know it’s going to be beautiful.

Alicia & Curtis… engaged!

I love when engagement sessions and family sessions come together. We just missed a crazy thunderstorm and had a great time downtown. This family is so great! I can’t wait for their wedding this fall!

Jennifer & Charlie… engaged!

This shoot had all of my favorite things: nature, old buildings, and dogs. And two awesome people! ❤

Faron & Sammy… engaged!

I may become an early morning shoot convert after this one.  We started at National Boulangerie, and then went to Woodford Reserve, which is beautiful!  Their little boy even made a couple of appearances.  🙂 www.emilymoseleyblog.com | Lexington KY wedding photographer www.emilymoseleyblog.com | Lexington KY wedding photographer www.emilymoseleyblog.com | Lexington KY wedding photographer www.emilymoseleyblog.com | Lexington KY wedding photographer www.emilymoseleyblog.com | Lexington KY wedding photographer www.emilymoseleyblog.com | Lexington KY wedding photographer www.emilymoseleyblog.com | Lexington KY wedding photographer www.emilymoseleyblog.com | Lexington KY wedding photographer www.emilymoseleyblog.com | Lexington KY wedding photographer

Will & Shelby… engaged!

Shoots that have locations that are personal to the couple are the best.  We started off at Will’s family’s church, where they’ve been going for several generations.  They have a lovely garden area on the side of the church.

Then we headed out to their farm, which was amazing!  Old barns, cows, thistle… all of my favorite things.  And getting to ride in Will’s truck over bouncy hills and corn fields was a definite plus.  www.emilymoseleyblog.com | Lexington KY wedding photographer_003 www.emilymoseleyblog.com | Lexington KY wedding photographer_004 www.emilymoseleyblog.com | Lexington KY wedding photographer_005www.emilymoseleyblog.com | Lexington, Kentucky wedding photographer www.emilymoseleyblog.com | Lexington KY wedding photographer_006

Did I mention that Will is a rodeo cowboy?  Pretty great. www.emilymoseleyblog.com | Lexington KY wedding photographer_007 www.emilymoseleyblog.com | Lexington KY wedding photographer_008 www.emilymoseleyblog.com | Lexington KY wedding photographer_009 www.emilymoseleyblog.com | Lexington KY wedding photographer_012 www.emilymoseleyblog.com | Lexington KY wedding photographer_010 www.emilymoseleyblog.com | Lexington KY wedding photographer_011It got cloudy just before sunset, and right when I thought we’d be out of luck, the clouds parted.  🙂

Shelby & Will… a little preview

Love farm shoots!  I may have fallen in a hole after I took this shot – but it was worth it.  🙂

Rachel & Chas… engaged!

On the day of Rachel and Chas’ engagement session, the weather was all over the place.  We were going to start at 6, and at 5 storms were moving into the area.  But we decided to go for it anyway.  We met out at Keeneland and I think we took about five photos before the sky opened up.  Luckily we were by the track so we hung out in the grandstand till it passed.  After twenty minutes the rain subsided and we were able to shoot!  I think we had 45 minutes before the next storm blew through.  I love summer storms, and I was stoked that Rachel and Chas were not deterred by them either!  🙂

You can see the rain starting in this photo.  After this shot we had to make a mad dash for the cars!
